Client: Park Primary School
Park Primary School is located in Colne, Lancashire in the North West of England. Their challenge is one of filling a few extra spaces in their classes, and the shortfall is not due to poor teaching or results, quite the contrary. This is a lovely school with a progressive Head Teacher and fantastic staff whose results are above the national average. Location within the town centre is the prime reason that they lack enough local children within walking distance to fully populate each class.
They wanted a state of the art website that showcased what a fantastic school this is and one perhaps worth travelling a few extra miles to attend. The staff work tirelessly to provide superb opportunities both in class and as enrichment activities beyond the classroom. These challenge the pupils and provide a rich learning environment for them to grow and fulfill their full potential.
The school used newsletters, emails and text to communicate with parents and while they will continue with all of these tools they expressed an interest in updating their skills and using modern social media to bring their communication methods inline with modern practises and in the style that the majority of people expect now.
The new website is a celebration of the fantastic work that goes on in the school and opportunities were provided to showcase classwork as well as the numerous activities the school engages the pupils and parents with.
Park wanted a colourful fun website that would not only engage with their current pupils and parents but also by showcasing the many fantastic opportunities that the pupils have attract new parents to consider Park as the natural choice for their child. The number of primary school websites that use the Rainbow as the standard graphic persuaded me and the school to be different and on a school visit I spotted an amazing mural of Rainbow fish painted on a 40 foot long wall that was the work of one of their resident Teaching Assistants who I must say is very talented. I had my professional photographer carefully photograph the whole wall and then each component part so that I could not only use the beautiful image as a feature of their Home Page but also animate it to give them a lovely and unique feature. The staff, children and parents love it!
The previous website was very difficult to edit and update resulting in a very poor user experience, the new site utilising the Divi framework allows for easy site updates and for the staff to keep the site fresh and adhere to the design aspect and keep the site interesting for their visitors. All sections and pages are templated allowing the creation of new sections or pages very easy to manage. The school still employ me to help them manage their content due to how busy they are but they are able when required to go in and do minor edits as they see fit.
To help modernise and improve communication with parents and carers the school has embraced the use of social media by means of blogs, Twitter and recently Facebook to communicate out the many events, activities that the children do within school and at remote locations. Webformity provide ongoing consultation and training with staff so that they make the most out of the new site and improve their personal skills in the use of web technologies.

Thank you for going the extra mile. The website is beyond magnificent! Gorgeous. Enticing. User friendly! More than I dreamed it could be. I love all the colours on all the pages. Absolute perfection. I love working with perfectionists who pay attention to detail. I could not be more pleased.
Working with Cliff has been a joy. I came to Cliff with a slither of an idea and he turned that tiny idea into a dream website. I don’t just love the website, I adore it! The setting up of blogs and tweets has been seamless – staff training was also provided by Cliff.
Cliff is one of the nicest and most professional people I know. I look forward to working with him in the years to come. A top guy to work with – approachable, honest and extremely hard-working. He has worked endlessly these last few months to get our new website looking OUTSTANDING!
Please take a look at my Year 4 Class page – Parents can view everything they need to know in regard their child attending my class from classwork to homework and everything in-between! I love to be able to display galleries of the pupils captured during some of the excellent activities that they really enjoy.
The Outcome exceeded expectations
Webformity not only design outstanding looking fully responsive school websites that fully comply with Government mandatory and Ofsted recommended page content, we also listen very carefully to extract the true brief for why we are redesigning a school website. We do all of the above of course but we also make sure that through thoughtful design and careful crafting of the web experience we also capture the site visitors imagination and showcase the school in the best possible light. By careful examination and story boarding all of the information that a school should and wants to provide for them. We handle the full process from brief to interviewing staff, writing content, creating a web design and logical navigation based on the volume of information that is required so that the user can easily locate the information they need. Webformity also enter all web page content and manage the acquisition of the right photography that captures the essence of the school, Webformity is proud to work with Michelle from MichellelouisePhotography who is an outstanding professional who has an aptitude for commercial photography as well as her Wedding & Portrait work that she does. Park is a fantastic example of her work where through careful coaxing of the children she managed to capture some beautiful pictures of the children that are showcased on the Year group class pages.
